Phyllis L. Pyles, born October 21, 1946, passed away on November 3, 2019.

Phyllis graduated from Pleasant View High School Class in 1964 and through the vocational program became a licensed dental assistant in the Columbus area.

She later achieved a degree in nursing from Clark State Technical College in 1977 and her BS in nursing education from Antioch College in 1994.

Phyllis worked as a floor nurse and later as floor supervisor at the former Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Ohio. She also enjoyed her work in home health care in the Springfield, Dayton and Columbus areas with various agencies. This included working with adults with disabilities as well as also providing IV care and therapy for individuals receiving home health care. She worked for a short time in Columbus Franklin County Area Agency on Aging.

Preceded in death by parents H. Verlyn and Mary M Pyles, Phyllis is survived, by her sister Eva-Jo Pohly (Keith) and brothers Philip Pyles (Patricia) and Hank Pyles (Jill). She loved and doted on her nieces and nephews, Kristin, Layne, Savannah, Joshua, Jesse, Aaron, Janey, John, and their kids as well. They will all remember her as “Aunt Fluff” and will have cherished memories of all the adventures, travels and special activities she loved to provide. Not only did Phyllis’s nieces and nephews bring her joy but also her various assortment of cats and dogs over the years enabled Phyllis to provide the meaningful nurturing and care she so loved to give.
