Rebecca G. Nussdorfer, age 99, died peacefully at her home at Kendal, in Hanover, New Hampshire on April 24, 2021.

Becky was born in Curwensville, PA as Rebecca Patton Ganoe, just 15 minutes after her twin sister, Honora “Norie”. She spent her childhood as an Army “Brat” living in Washington D.C., Wellesley, MA, and Fort Screven, GA. Summers were spent at the family home on Sutton Island, ME.

On July 8, 1944, she married Theodore J. Nussdorfer ’44 in West Chester, PA, whom she met at Antioch College. When Ted got a job at Arthur D. Little in 1953, they moved to Lexington, MA, where they raised three sons, Daniel, David and Theodore. Becky joined the town Bicentennial Committee, which planned the first reenactment of the “The shot heard round the world” on the Lexington Green, now an annual event.

In 1973, she and Ted opened a KOA campground in Littleton, MA with the help of their sons, Ted and David. In 1977, Becky and Ted moved to Nashua, NH and in 1982 they built an in-ground solar home in New Ipswich, NH. Becky enjoyed the natural surroundings of their home and found many ways to appreciate nature and the earth. She enjoyed painting her favorite scenes, watching and learning about birds, and tending to the plants in her greenhouse and around the property. Her beloved husband died in October 1994, after 50 years of marriage.

Becky moved into Kendal at Hanover in 1999. There she met Irving “Tut” Tuttle in 2004 who filled her days with love and purpose. They married in 2004, adding a wonderful line of new family to Becky’s life. Sadly, Tut passed in 2009, after 5 years of marriage.

Passions in her life included her watercolor paintings, which featured in many showings at Kendal, and tennis, which she played until the age of 85, as well as spending time with family.

Becky is survived by her twin sister, Norie Closz of New Wilmington, PA; her children Daniel Nussdorfer, and his wife, Jayne, of Halifax, MA; David Nussdorfer, and his wife, Donna, of Harwich, MA; and Theodore and his wife, Maureen, of Harvard, MA; her grandchildren Virginia and John Froio of Cohasset, MA, Julie and Joshua Hassan of Cohasset, MA, Daniel and Catherine Nussdorfer of Eastham, MA, Emily Nussdorfer of Brewster, MA, Kelly and Kevin Lillquist of Lancaster, MA, William and Alexandra Nussdorfer of Sharon, MA and Scott and Rebecca Nussdorfer of Groton, MA; her 11 great-grandchildren; her step-children and their families; and many loving nieces and nephews and their families who showed her great kindness over the years.
