Project 2: Pansy

Project Overview

Pansy is a feature length film currently in production. The project started with the intent to subvert poor transgender and queer representation in mainstream media. From its inception co-directors Rose and Lola hoped to capture joy and happiness in the mundane life of the trans and queer communities at Antioch. The project is entirely unscripted, the narrative stitched together from the hundreds of hours spent together with community, friends and found families on the Antioch campus. Pansy is the window into the life of the Antioch queer and trans community, it is the mundane rebellion, the everyday moments that make us laugh and cry. It is the soft and warm and gentle truth, the voice that is quiet, persistently demanding change in representation. Funds will be used to promote and distribute the film.
