DESCRIPTION:Join us on Friday\, May 29 at 6:00 PM on the front lawn of Antioch Hall for Baseball on the Lawn: A Historic Game at Antioch College featuring:  \n⚾ The 1869 Cincinnati Red Stockings vs. The Springfield Reapers \nThis event is free and open to the public\, with concessions available. \nThis commemorative baseball game continues a story more than 150 years in the making. Originally scheduled for May 31\, 1869\, Antioch College was set to face the Cincinnati Red Stockings\, the first fully professional baseball team\, as part of their groundbreaking national tour. That game was rained out\, postponing what would have been a historic moment. \nIn 2019\, Antioch finally “made up” that matchup in a spirited contest played by vintage baseball rules\, before gloves and many modern conventions\, bringing the past vividly to life. Today’s commemorative game carries that tradition forward\, with the Springfield Reapers stepping in to represent Antioch College. \nEvent Details: \n📍 Location: Front lawn of Antioch Hall \n🕕 Time: 6:00 PM \n🎟️ Admission: Free \n🍿 Concessions available \n🪑 Seating: Please bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating  \nWhether you’re a baseball fan\, a history enthusiast\, or just looking for a fun evening outdoors\, we hope you’ll join us for this unique community event.
