SUMMARY:Louisiana Byways presents the Cajun Country Revival
DESCRIPTION:Louisiana Byways presents the Cajun Country Revival\nMarch 21 @ 7PM\nWYSO Presents Cajun Dance party with The Cajun Country Revival featuring members of the Red Stick Ramblers and Foghorn String Band \nCome out and experience authentic Cajun Dancehall music at its finest\, featuring Louisiana natives Jesse Legé (of Bayou Brew)\, Linzay Young and Joel Savoy (founding members of the Red Stick Ramblers) along with Sammy Lind and Nadine Landry (of the Foghorn String Band). \nCome and hear the accordion and fiddles pouring out melodies as hot as a ladle of sauce piquante while guitar and bass lay down the driving beats that will test the structural integrity of the dance floor. Two-steps\, waltzes\, and French blues\, with a dash of Honky Tonk sprinkled in now and then mean that this music is made for dancing — but it sounds great to boot. So throw on your boots\, or whatever shoes you want to boot scoot in and get ready for a shot of Cajun joie de vivre from some of this generation’s most road-tested and genuine purveyors of American roots music from the Louisiana and Old-Time musical traditions. These folks have brought joy and jubilation to feet and ears the world over. Don’t miss this chance to see them live in Yellow Springs! \nAs an extra special treat\, a multi-week session of dance lessons in two step and waltz will precede the event\, taught by Sharon Leahy. Information and registration on the ‘It’s Tuesday\, Let’s Dance!’ series can be found here:  https://antiochcollege.edu/event/mad-river-theater-works-presents-its-tuesday-lets-dance-5/ \nTo register email chris@madrivertheater.org\n \n \n \n \n \n Tickets will be available at the door of the First Presbyterian Church starting @ 6:30pm on 3/21 \nWestminster Hall\, First Presbyterian Church314 Xenia Ave\, Yellow Springs\, OH 45387 \n \n Get Tickets\n \n Season Ticket Packages\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Updated Event Location:  \nWestminster Hall\, First Presbyterian Church314 Xenia Ave\, Yellow Springs\, OH 45387

He also worked on the recently released film “History of Sound\,” starring Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor\, wherein Amidon served as a music advisor and performer. The film had its premiere at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival.  \nPreviously\, Sam Amidon has recorded or performed as a guest artist with musicians such as Bon Iver\, The National\, The Blind Boys of Alabama\, The Gloaming\, Lonnie Holley\, Manami Kakudo\, Jacob Collier\, Marc Ribot\, and Beth Orton\, among many others. SUMMARY:Theater Oobleck
DESCRIPTION:Location:Herndon Gallery at Antioch College\, South Hall\, 805 Livermore Street\, Yellow Springs\, OH 45387 \nParking:Please note that parking is available in the lot behind the Wellness Center / OK Library. On-street parking is available on Livermore Street and adjacent streets. Accessible passenger drop-off/pick-up is available via Morgan Place\, off of Livermore Street. \n \n \n \n \n \n Song About HimselfBy Mickle Maher[no director] \nMickle Maher sets this play in a dystopian future where the Internet has been effectively destroyed by viruses and malware\, and people communicate in little more than mumbles. \nLooking for human interaction of any kind\, Carol ― a woman made extraordinary by her ability to speak relatively clearly ― signs in to a mysterious social media site created by a rogue artificial intelligence within the Web itself\, only to find that\, strangely\, she is its only member. The secrets she uncovers there will either cure or break her lonely heart. \nEmploying extremely minimalist staging and an original form of ornate verse derived from a corruption of Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass\, Song About Himself goes at the question every play asks: “Do words\, in the end\, help?” \nThe cast features Theater Oobleck ensemble member Diana Slickman\, along with Oobleck irregulars Vicki Walden and HB Ward. The play was developed in conjunction with the Goodman Theatre Playwrights Unit. It will be presented with limited seating for each night. \nPraise for Song About Himself \n“Of [Maher’s] many artful\, resonant plays\, this one has the potential to eclipse them all.” — Chicago Reader \n“Recommended… It is a rich psychological and metaphysical landscape through which to travel.” — Newcity \n“Maher crafts an engaging\, resonant online ode.” — TimeOut Chicago \n★ ★ ★ “Ultimately Maher is digging his finger around in that gaping hole of what it means to connect with another person — the wistful\, persistent desire for it\, and the technology that we’ve come to rely on to make so much of it possible.” — Chicago Tribune \nBios \nDIANA SLICKMAN is veteran of Chicago fringe theater. A Theater Oobleck ensemble member since 2003\, she has appeared in many productions\, including The Hunchback Variations\, There Is a Happiness That Morning Is\, and Letter Purloined and others. She is a member of the group solo performance ensemble BoyGirlBoyGirl\, with whom she creates shows inspired by found text. Last She’s also a writer/performer who has presented work with The Neo-Futurists\, Curious Theatre Branch\, Lucky Pierre\, Write Club\, 20 x 2 and elsewhere. \nH.B. WARD has worked with many Chicago theatre companies\, including Shattered Globe Theatre\, A Red Orchid Theater\, The Artistic Home\, Timeline Theater\, Theater Oobleck\, American Blues Theater\, Jackalope Theatre\, and Rivendell Theatre. Film work includes Ghostlight and Saint Francis. Television work includes Chicago Fire\, Chicago Med (NBC)\, and Somebody Somewhere (HBO). He is represented by Paonessa Talent Agency. \nVICKI WALDEN is an ensemble member of Curious Theatre Branch with decades of experience in Chicago’s storefront theater scene. She is an actor and director/writer whose most recent credits include I Love You Permanently\, Moon at the Bottom of the Ocean\, The Ship and the Sea\, This is Not a Churchill\, Valence\, (Not) Another Day\, One Boppa\, and Ionesco’s Rhinoceros. She has performed with other storefront stalwarts\, including Barrie Cole and Theatre Oobleck\, and is a former company member of Cook County Theatre Dept\, Lucky Pierre\, and DOG\, a theater company. She plays bass and sings in The Crooked Mouth and Broom People. \nMICKLE MAHER. Called “one of the most original voices in American theater today” by the Houston Chronicle\, Mickle Maher is a cofounder of Chicago’s Theater Oobleck\, and teaches playwriting at the University of Chicago.  Song About Himself along with five of his other plays are published by Agate Publishing in the collection Six Plays. Recently\, his adaptation of Jason Lutes’ graphic novel Berlin was premiered by Chicago’s Court Theatre. \nTheater Oobleck: No director. New works. Free if you’re broke. Thirty-seven years. \nTheater Oobleck is an artistic collective dedicated to producing and performing original works of theater for the benefit of\, and at low or no cost to\, the Chicago community and beyond. All our works are created and developed by members of the Oobleck ensemble\, working in concert to create a collaborative vision without an overseeing director. We have produced over 70 world-premiere productions over the past 37 years\, as well as 20+ remounts of earlier productions. \nWhile we are focused in creating work in Chicago\, we have also toured to New York (eight times); Puerto Rico (twice); Madison (twice); Milwaukee; Houston; Ann Arbor; South Bend; Providence; Worcester\, Massachusetts; New London\, Connecticut; Northfield\, Minnesota; Champaign\, Illinois; Lewiston\, Maine; Yellow Springs\, Ohio; and Durham\, Raleigh\, & Carrboro\, North Carolina. Oobleck works have been re-mounted by theaters in American cities including Austin\, Houston\, Los Angeles\, New York\, St. Louis\, Philadelphia\, Portland\, Milwaukee\, San Francisco\, Cleveland\, Denver\, Tuscon\, and Savannah; and internationally in the United Kingdom\, Germany\, Austria\, Switzerland\, Norway\, Finland\, Scotland\, and Luxembourg. \n  \n \n Get Tickets for April 10\, 2026\n \n Get Tickets for April 11\, 2026\n \n Get Tickets for April 12\, 2026\n \n Season Ticket Packages

SUMMARY:Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms
DESCRIPTION:Location: Herndon Gallery at Antioch College\, South Hall\, 805 Livermore Street\, Yellow Springs\, OH 45387 \nParking: Please note that parking is available in the lot behind the Wellness Center / OK Library. On-street parking is available on Livermore Street and adjacent streets. Accessible passenger drop-off/pick-up is available via Morgan Place\, off of Livermore Street. \n \n \n \n \n \n Dust off your boots and gather around for some true and original modern honky tonk music with Caleb Klauder and Reeb Willms. These two are known to roots music fans across the globe for their soulful harmonies\, driving dance tunes\, classic original songs\, and commitment to the raw truth of rural American music. They live in the San Juan Islands of Washington\, though until recently\, home was Portland\, OR. They are foundational to the exceptional old-time and country music scene in the Pacific NW with the Caleb Klauder Reeb Willms Country Band and their membership in the Foghorn Stringband\, of which Caleb was a founding member. Charismatic performers\, they bring their unique set of talents to the stage with an eye towards good times and an ear towards the deepest songs and tunes. \nTheir repertoire is made up of original songs and tunes as well as gems from American roots repertoires\, and the music they make is Americana in the truest sense of the word. Music is clearly in their blood. Caleb and Reeb’s originals and interpretations of songs have been covered and recorded by many performers and their musical presence reaches into a diverse and loyal fanbase\, giving credence to the impact that this duo has on their listeners. \nSometimes we get so unnecessarily swept up in who’s rising and falling in music these days that the sheer joy of music is overlooked. One of the great things about Caleb and Reeb is that they are a world apart from all of that nonsense and let you immerse yourself in the melody and story of classic sounding country music until all other cares of life fade away. Country music is the music of working people who use it to pass the time and forget about the ever-present hardships in their lives. After years of touring together\, Reeb and Caleb work intuitively. \nThe blend of true harmonies\, the sharply-written country songs\, and the un-showy authenticity strike a rich vein that makes them seem like they are born and raised in Music City.  They quietly pursue a musical vision without much of a care for what’s expected or in vogue at the time. There’s a lot to admire in this singular perseverance and honesty.\n \n Get Tickets\n \n Season Ticket Packages

SUMMARY:The Antioch School Spring Musical at the Foundry Theater
DESCRIPTION:Free and Open to the Public\nFriday\, May 8 @ 7pm\nSaturday\, May 9 @ 2pm \nAt The Antioch School\, education is centered on the belief that children learn best through play\, curiosity\, and self-discovery.

Childhood is seen as a uniquely wonderful time in our lives. It is celebrated and respected\, rather than treated as training for adulthood. \nWe prioritize hands-on experiences that encourage independent thinking\, creativity\, and problem-solving\, allowing children to explore at their own pace.

Our holistic learning approach integrates academic subjects across the curriculum and values emotional\, physical\, and intellectual growth equally\, recognizing that all forms of intelligence are important. \nEvery Spring\, the Antioch School Older Group classroom produces a unique and original student-led musical.  This year’s production is Harry Potter and the Foundry is proud to host!

SUMMARY:Mdou Moctar at the Foundry Theater
DESCRIPTION:Mdou Moctar – Special Solo Show\n \nSaturday\, May 16\n \n\nProdigious Tuareg guitarist and songwriter Mdou Moctar boldly reforges contemporary Saharan music and “rock music“ by melding Eddie Van Halen pyrotechnics\, full-blast noise and guitar shredding\, field recordings\, drums rhythms\, poetic meditations on love\, religion\, women’s rights\, inequality and Western Africa’s exploitation at the hands of colonial powers. \nMdou Moctar’s home is Agadez\, a desert village in rural Niger. Inspired by YouTube videos of Eddie Van Halen’s six string techniques and traditional Tuareg melodies\, he mastered the guitar which he himself built and created his own burning style.  A born charismatic\, Mdou went on to tell his story as an aspiring artist by writing\, producing & starring in the first Tuareg language film: a remake of Purple Rain called Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai –  which translates to “Rain The Color Of Blue With A Little Red In It”\, winning the approval of his family and his community. The word and the sound travelled across West Africa via mobile phone data cards\, a popular form of local music distribution. Grueling DIY world tours and albums on the independent US label Sahel Sounds followed\, including 2019’s landmark Ilana: The Creator album that earned Mdou Moctar an ecstatic international audience. \nThe Foundry is excited to present this special intimate and solo show with Mdou\, marking the close of our 2025-2026 Season. SUMMARY:Horse Lords at the Foundry Theater
DESCRIPTION:Horse Lords\nAs an instrumental unit\, Horse Lords rely on a collective voice and focus to provide the band’s core strength; a process enriched by their disparate musical interests. The quartet\, formed in 2010\, embraces Renaissance counterpoint\, covers composer Julius Eastman\, plays instruments specially fretted for microtonality\, and organizes its music through polyrhythmic matrices. The ingenious machinery of their music is humanized with exploration and passion. \nGuitarist Owen Gardner and saxophonist / percussionist Andrew Bernstein met in the ‘00s at Goucher College in suburban Baltimore—the former steeped in global folk musics and experimental music\, the latter a budding composer. As members of the rich Baltimore music scene\, notably the band Teeth Mountain\, they met bassist Max Eilbacher\, who has subsequently blazed a path in electroacoustic music\, and drummer Sam Haberman. \nFrom the beginning\, Horse Lords have played music defined by repetition and complexity\, often at length\, and presented it in ways that telegraph their concern with questioning social and political norms. “Conceptually\, our music is always interested in the tension between the aesthetic\, the political\, and the material domains of art\, and the political muteness of instrumental music\,” the band says. “How can we imbue wordless music with a radical political message? The whole project of Horse Lords is an attempt to answer this question\, and all of our decisions\, musical and otherwise\, are informed by it.” \n \n Get Tickets\n \n Season Ticket Packages
