SUMMARY:The Big Family Business at the Foundry Theater
DESCRIPTION:The BIG FAMILY BUSINESS is at it again\, making performance art rooted in tradition but alive in the here and now. Led by the team of Sharon Leahy and Rick Good (www.leahygood.com) the Family is happy to be sharing two new works: a retelling of the “Ant and the Grasshopper” with master puppeteer and mask-maker\, Tristan Cupp; and a percussive dive into the concept of “staying at the table” featuring Rick’s banjo music. It will also be our pleasure to share a suite of our favorite swinging tap dances. \nThe BIG FAMILY BUSINESS collective includes many former Rhythm in Shoes dancers and musicians\, as well as extended-family collaborators from around the country. \n \n Get Tickets for May 2\, 2026\n \n Get Tickets for May 3\, 2026\n \n Season Ticket Packages

SUMMARY:The Antioch School Spring Musical at the Foundry Theater
DESCRIPTION:Free and Open to the Public\nFriday\, May 8 @ 7pm\nSaturday\, May 9 @ 2pm \nAt The Antioch School\, education is centered on the belief that children learn best through play\, curiosity\, and self-discovery.

Childhood is seen as a uniquely wonderful time in our lives. It is celebrated and respected\, rather than treated as training for adulthood. \nWe prioritize hands-on experiences that encourage independent thinking\, creativity\, and problem-solving\, allowing children to explore at their own pace.

Our holistic learning approach integrates academic subjects across the curriculum and values emotional\, physical\, and intellectual growth equally\, recognizing that all forms of intelligence are important. \nEvery Spring\, the Antioch School Older Group classroom produces a unique and original student-led musical.  This year’s production is Harry Potter and the Foundry is proud to host!

Presentations are free and open to the public. There will be time for Q&A after each presentation. These sessions will be recorded and posted on Antioch’s YouTube channel. \nPresentations are from 12:30 – 1:30 pm in the Olive Kettering Library. \nOr you can join virtually via Zoom. Presentations will be shared on Antioch’s Facebook channel afterwards. \n\nScheduleMarch 11: 150 Years of Antioch in 60 Minutes or Less: A general overview of Antioch College history from the 1850s to the 2000s. \nApril 8: Fact and Fiction of Antioch College: An attempt to dispel three seemingly impossible-to-dispel myths about the College. \nMay 13: Red\, Russians\, and Spies: Two former professors who used Antioch as a haven from dangerous Russian and Communist spies; one for real\, and the other maybe in his head. \nJune 10: Why So Many Damn Colleges in Ohio: An attempt to explain the reason for the establishment of over eighty small colleges in the great state of Ohio. \nJuly 8: Antioch and The Civil War: A history of Antioch College during the central event in American history\, the US Civil War\, including exploits and experiences of Antiochians who served in the conflict. \nAugust 12: The Devil and Daniel Ellsberg or How Scott Got Fired: A brief history of Antiochiana and a harrowing personal account of Scott’s experiences with Antioch University. \nSeptember 9: The Life of Hugh Taylor Birch: The improbable rags to riches story of a dropout from the 1860s who gave Antioch College a glen (and so much more) and has a dormitory named in his honor. \nOctober 14: Women of the Glen: The lives of three women associated with the College’s former nature preserve: a scientist\, an art collector\, and a sculptor. \nNovember 11: My Hero Horace Mann: A biographical picture show about Antioch College’s first president.

SUMMARY:Mdou Moctar at the Foundry Theater
DESCRIPTION:Mdou Moctar – Special Solo Show\n \nSaturday\, May 16\n \n\nProdigious Tuareg guitarist and songwriter Mdou Moctar boldly reforges contemporary Saharan music and “rock music“ by melding Eddie Van Halen pyrotechnics\, full-blast noise and guitar shredding\, field recordings\, drums rhythms\, poetic meditations on love\, religion\, women’s rights\, inequality and Western Africa’s exploitation at the hands of colonial powers. \nMdou Moctar’s home is Agadez\, a desert village in rural Niger. Inspired by YouTube videos of Eddie Van Halen’s six string techniques and traditional Tuareg melodies\, he mastered the guitar which he himself built and created his own burning style.  A born charismatic\, Mdou went on to tell his story as an aspiring artist by writing\, producing & starring in the first Tuareg language film: a remake of Purple Rain called Akounak Tedalat Taha Tazoughai –  which translates to “Rain The Color Of Blue With A Little Red In It”\, winning the approval of his family and his community. The word and the sound travelled across West Africa via mobile phone data cards\, a popular form of local music distribution. Grueling DIY world tours and albums on the independent US label Sahel Sounds followed\, including 2019’s landmark Ilana: The Creator album that earned Mdou Moctar an ecstatic international audience. \nThe Foundry is excited to present this special intimate and solo show with Mdou\, marking the close of our 2025-2026 Season. Join us! \n\n \n Get Tickets\n \n Season Ticket Packages
