The Coretta Scott King Center for Cultural and Intellectual Freedom will host a special Institute, Bootcamp for Activism, February 20–22, 2020.

The Bootcamp for Activism is a three-day intensive skill building experience for activists of all levels. It will provide an opportunity to:

  1. Learn from and connect with dynamic leaders at the forefront of social justice movements,
  2. Build skills to become a confident and effective activist and organizer, and
  3. Engage in exciting sessions from power mapping to social media organizing.

An exciting opportunity to plan a post-Boot Camp direct action and obtain funding up to $10,000 will be afforded to all registered participants!

9:30 AM – Flash Talks
10:45 AM – Concurrent Sessions I

2:00 PM – Concurrent Sessions II
3:45 PM – Plenary III – Boots on the Ground, From Theory to Practice – Planning for Action
5:15 PM – Break and dinner (on your own)
7:00 PM – Evening Session, Self-care for Activists
9:00 PMOpen Mic and Spoken Word


8:00 AM – Breakfast
9:00 PM – Concurrent Sessions III
10:45 AM – Closing session

$150 general

$85 full-time college students
