Dean Snyder

Dean Snyder joined the Antioch College faculty in 2015 as Assistant Professor of Political Economy. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. Snyder’s teaching and research center on global politics, with a specific emphasis on global political economy, international relations, and political ecology. As a teacher, Snyder draws on democratic educational models to foster deep discussion and self-directed student engagement with the major political issues facing humanity today. Snyder chairs Antioch College’s Social Sciences Division and has played a key role in developing the College’s Self-Designed Major curriculum. Snyder’s teaching has been recognized by the Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education, which honored him with its Excellence in Teaching Award in 2018.
