Outer Banks Birdwatching Field Trip
July 24 - July 28$900
Antioch College Summer Institute: Outer Banks Birdwatching Field Trip
Van trip from Antioch College to South Carolina with Nick Boutis, executive director of The Glen Helen Ecology Institute.
July 24-28 $900
Glen Helen is pleased to offer a five-day, four-night birdwatching and nature exploration adventure to coastal North Carolina in July 2019. North Carolina holds many habitats not found in Ohio, and we will visit several of them, including a pine woodland, cypress swamp, barrier island, and coastal wetland. North Carolina is also the easiest place in the eastern United States to access the deep water at the edge of the Continental Shelf. We will take advantage of this unique geological feature with a day-long pelagic trip to the Atlantic Gulf Stream aboard the Stormy Petrel II. The trip will be led by Glen Helen director Nick Boutis, who has many years of birding experience in the Mid-Atlantic states. We depart Yellow Springs on July 24, and return on July 28, travelling by van.
