The Miller Brothers: An Enduring Legacy
February 7 - May 17
The Miller Brothers: An Enduring Legacy, showcasing the writing and artwork of Nolan and Richard Miller, is on view February 7 – May 17, 2019 in the Herndon Gallery. Guest-curated by Yellow Springs resident and artist Jenny Haack, the show features a wide range of Richard’s art, from oils to woodblocks, and ceramics, and provide space for visitors to interact with books written by Nolan.
Part of the Yellow Springs community for more than half a century, Nolan was an accomplished writer and first fiction editor of The Antioch Review and moved to Yellow Springs to teach at Antioch College. Richard studied at the Art Students League of New York and followed his brother to the village where they built homes connected by a breezeway.
The Miller brothers’ lives were driven by creativity, individual expression, and a commitment to and community. Their legacy through the Miller Fellowship program at the Yellow Springs Community Foundation extends those values to strengthen collaboration between Yellow Springs and Antioch College.
