Position Summary:

The Database & Systems Support Analyst will serve as the primary administrator for portions of Antioch College’s technical infrastructure and enterprise applications. This includes providing both back-end maintenance and management, as well as offering training and support for end-users. The work will be performed according to industry best practices. The position will be an active member of the Admissions team, where they will have significant responsibility for the Admissions and Financial Aid functions. The Database & Systems Support Analyst will continually work to optimize configuration and improve use and management of systems.


Information Technology and Media Services

Participate with ITAMS team and organization leaders in the development and implementation of IT strategic goals and objectives, and the development of policies, procedures, and standards related to the work

Primary administrator of select enterprise infrastructure and applications and related software, computing environments, and data and work on projects such as:

  • Implementation of new applications and services
  • Routine reviews of security precautions and practices
  • Management of data backups
  • Assistance with systems integration
  • Provision of routine desktop support for users

Provide day-to-day support operating in an IT Helpdesk capacity and providing upper-tier support for the IT Helpdesk; serving as the primary initial point of contact for end-users for problems outside the scope of the IT Helpdesk;

Manage user accounts, permissions, and settings as assigned

Perform scheduled upgrades and migrations of computer systems

Provide end-users with training and support and proactively work with end-users to promote optimal use of systems

Occasionally work variable hours and days in support of College needs

Generate reports and analyze information in support of continual improvement

Admission & Financial Aid

Coordinates and facilitates the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing implementation of the Admissions Office CRM system.

Daily process prospect, inquiry and application data received from third-party sources, such as the Common Application, Cappex, and other lead generators

Develop and maintain segmented and conditionally triggered segmented Communications with content creators

Execute and manage integration of Admission and Financial Aid systems

Work with members of the Admissions team to generate reports

Other responsibilities as assigned


Two or more years’ experience across one or more of these knowledge domains: systems administration, network administration, server administration, database administration, desktop/user support, or instructional technology

Associate’s degree in Computer Science/CIS, computer engineering, MIS, or closely related field. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred

Experience with the following technologies strongly preferred: Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, SQL, Google Apps for Education, Google Apps Directory Sync, Windows OS & Windows Server, OSX and UNIX operating systems, and at least one scripting language


Technology and Database: Superior ability to leverage technology and some database, SQL, HTML, and CSS experience. The ability to learn quickly and problem-solve. Experience using Technolutions Slate CRM product a plus. Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products is required

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Organization and Detail: Highly detail oriented and process-based thinker. Possess an implicit understanding of the importance of maintaining high-quality records and data integrity at every interaction. Has the ability to communicate the importance of organization and detail to others on the team. Experience with higher education is a plus

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages

Communications and Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, parents and the general public

Ability to Organize and Plan: Identifies tangible goals, establishes timelines and key deliverables, works with others to gain buy-in and support to see goals realized.

Problem-Solving Skills: The ability to proactively address challenges with a positive, solution-based attitude

Customer Service Skills: Able to engage with users in problem-solving, developmental, and training scenarios


Position works extensively in a heated and cooled office environment; seating, squatting, moving on the floor, or standing on floor or ladder, and utilizing standard office equipment such as networked computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines

Occasional requirement to move around campus and in other locations, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rougher terrain experiencing local temperature and weather variations

Carrying of work-related items to different work sites; up to 25 pounds

Moving work-related equipment within a work site; up to 25 pounds
