About the Position:

Antioch College is seeking a passionate and dynamic Director of Major Gifts to lead the charge in securing transformational contributions of $25,000 or more to support our mission of educational excellence and social impact. Reporting directly to the Director of Advancement, the Director of Major Gifts will play a pivotal role in driving the growth and sustainability of our institution by engaging current and prospective donors, cultivating relationships, and securing substantial philanthropic investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and qualify prospective major donors, leveraging existing donor relationships and expanding the portfolio of prospects.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive cultivation and solicitation strategies for major gifts, including one-time, special, and multi-year contributions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Advancement team and external partners to support fundraising initiatives and meet annual revenue goals.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate major gifts fundraising campaigns to raise $2.5M of the $4.5M annual revenue budget.
  • Provide strategic support and guidance to the President of the College on donor engagement and fundraising efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in major gifts fundraising or related field.
  • Proven track record of soliciting and securing significant philanthropic contributions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and inspire confidence in donors.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as needed.

Salary and Benefits: 

  • 160 hours vacation leave and 40 sick hours leave a year.
  • 10 paid holidays a year, plus a week between Christmas and New Year’s off.
