You must be a registered Antioch College student to be eligible for this position. The student is responsible for the general upkeep of the Writing Institute.
Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
The student is responsible for the general upkeep of the Writing Institute which includes dusting, organizing, refreshing handouts and updating the bulletin board as needed, informing writing faculty of supply shortages, monitoring technical issues with the computers (not fixing them, but making the appropriate parties aware), and updating and organizing the Writing Institute library. Additionally, the student worker will help other students that may come to the Writing Institute with questions about writing assignments or connect them with writing faculty or tutors that can help.
Must be dependable, responsible, and organized. Must be able to communicate with faculty and students in-person and via email in a professional manner. Prefer knowledge of grammar rules, effective essay strategies, and documenting sources. A background in creative writing is also welcome.
This position will require you to complete FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) training.
Required Physical Abilities:
Physical ability to perform daily office activities, to include sitting long periods at a desk, light duty lifting, written and oral correspondence.
This position would require the student worker to enforce space limitations, social distancing, and mask-wearing due to COVID.
