You must be a registered Antioch College student to be eligible for this position.

Assist in the functioning of the Olive Kettering Library. Provide patron assistance on library services at the Information Commons desk and help maintain library stacks in the general and periodicals collection.

Dates for the Position:

January 8, 2024 and ends on or before March 22, 2024, upon approval of the job supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
Monitors the circulation desk
Assists library patrons in locating & checking out library materials
Locates and retrieves interlibrary loan materials
Assists in the interlibrary loan process
Performs other duties associated with the circulation desk
Executes library policies & procedures associated with health & safety
Executes closing procedures if working the closing shift
Shelving books;
Cleaning shelves and books;
Performing special projects at the direction of the Library Director.

Qualifications:
Be prompt and dependable.
Strong attention to detail.
Courteous and professional.
Being able to juggle many tasks at one time.
Willingness to learn information retrieval skills.
Must be able to give verbal direction in English as well as read and write English

Required Physical Abilities:
Must be able to push loaded book carts and shelve books.
Should be able to lift from 10-20 pounds
Ability to stand or walk frequently
Ability to bend, squat, climb stairs and lift frequently
Climb up onto and down from equipment or ladders
Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time

Environmental Considerations:
Position works extensively in an office environment; seated or standing and utilizing standard office equipment such as networked computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines
Indoor office environment; heated and cooled institutionally
Worker may be exposed to dust and/or mildew in damper parts of the library.

Work Schedule(s):
Mon – Fri: 10hrs /morning flex hours;
Mon-Thur: 4PM – 10PM;
Sun 4PM – 10PM [Hours are set but shifts can be determined by workers’ schedules]
