Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
Antioch Oral Historians will conduct background research, generate thoughtful and responsive questions, and conduct interviews with Antioch Alumni and others in the Antioch College community (current and graduated students, staff, faculty, co-op partners etc.). Oral History Methodology training is provided, and students will be expected to learn and maintain ethical best practices of research with human subjects. Many of these interviews will be conducted virtually. All interviews will be summarized into segments using a digital tool called the OHMS, and will become part of an emergent Antioch digital archive that is available to all online, including members of the general public and scholars who may cite the narratives as a primary source.
Project 1:
Affirmative Consent: The History of the Sexual Offense Prevention Policy at Antioch College;
Project 2:
Interviews With Color: Being Black in the Predominantly White Institution known as Antioch College;
Project 3:
Antioch Committee for Racial Equality (ACRE) to Freedom Summer: Documenting Antioch at the Vanguard of the Civil Rights Movement. A general interest in African American History
Detail oriented
Self-motivated
Able to work independently.

Able to sit for prolonged periods of time
Able to focus on computer tasks for prolonged periods of time

Occasional requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain experiencing local temperature and weather variations
