Sherri Ihle

Dean of Students and Community Life

Office: 937-319-0233
Location: 203 South Hall

Hello! My name is Sherri Ihle and I work as the Dean of Students and Community Life here at Antioch. In this role, I get to work with students in their campus living environment (Residence Life), through their transition to campus (Orientation), during challenges they may experience on campus (Conduct), and help them develop skills they will need as they launch into life after Antioch (Student Affairs generally). I’ve been doing this type of work on small college campuses for over 15 years and deeply love being a part of the transformational experience of college.

Every path has the ability to teach us new things and gives us the opportunity to impact the world around us. I’m grateful for my path as it has taken me through Miami University (Oxford, OH) where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Art Education and my Master of Science in College Student Personnel while serving in multiple Residence Life roles; Oberlin College (Oberlin, OH) where I served as Resident Director for Program Houses; Wilson College (Chambersburg, PA) where I served as Director of Residence Life; Wittenberg University (Springfield, OH) where I served in multiple Student Affairs roles; and now Antioch College. I’m native to Cincinnati, OH but have lived as far away as Differdange, Luxembourg.

Outside of work, I am mom to a feisty teenager (Emma/Ace) and a very chill cat-dog (Grayson), and wife to an incredibly patient partner (Mike) who also doubles as an amazing cook and craftsman. I love all things outdoors or involving water (in any state) so if it involves camping, growing things, making things, or other adventuring, sign me up! I love exploring new places, finding delicious food or beverages, learning new information or skills, and generally enjoying the wonder that is the world around us. I’m a Gen X 90’s kid at heart and love a wide range of music, movies, and shows. Come join me at lunch, stop by my office, ask for baked goods (I am a killer baker), or share hilarious memes – I seem quiet but really I’m an introvert with extrovert energy and always up for new conversations.
