Name: Eleanor Hicks-Green

Graduation Year: 2017

Major: ENVS

Placement/Employment: Assistant supervisor with Washington Conservation Corps, doing ecological restoration, field ecology, invasive plant management, and disaster relief. She recently completed a wetland monitoring position with the Washington Department of Transportation.

Eleanor says, “I’m a month in to my second year term of the Washington Conservation Corps. This summer I’ll be the assistant supervisor as we work on trail projects up at Mt. Rainier. I am also anticipating being deployed to one of five locations across the U.S. and territories for disaster relief. In the 12 months I have been a part of this program, I’ve gone on three deployments; one to Florida in response to Hurricane Irma, and two in Washington state, a fire and a flood. The summer before starting WCC in October of last year, I interned with Washington Department of Transportation doing wetland monitoring. Most recently, I have applied for a Fulbright scholarship to teach English in Romania.”
