Essential Responsibilities of the Position:

Managing the logistical functions of the Community Council, including but not limited to:

  • Record and distribute the minutes of the Community Council and select committee meetings, including lists of assigned tasks delegated during meetings
  • Manage the Community Council electronic presence
  • Regularly check the Community Council email and organizing the inbox as necessary
  • Assist the Community Council Chair(s) with the coordination of the other Community Council employees, ensuring that delegated tasks are completed, communication streams are up to date, documents are organized, etc.
  • Assist the Community Council Chair(s) with the coordination, hosting, and facilitation of Community Council meetings
  • Coordinate the release of official statements and general communications by the Community Council to the public, regarding events, campus updates, procedures, shared expectations, campus resources, etc.
  • Oversee of the formation of new standing committees and ad hoc committees
  • Distribute necessary forms to the community. These forms include but are not limited to: Independent Group Registration Forms and Funding Request Forms.
  • Update the Administrative Assistant training manual.
  • Assist Community Council and the Chair(s) with any other necessary task.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with file management and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Experience or interest in budgeting and finance
  • Experience participating in a government
  • Self-motivation
  • Organization and time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adopt a variety of responsibilities
