Job Description 

The Little Art Theatre

The Little Art Theatre seeks a college student to serve as a Development and Marketing Intern to craft messaging, create donor materials, help plan events, and assist with grant management, including our recent $100K Plex TV Theatre of Dreams grant. The intern will gain experience in database management, donor relations, event marketing/planning, and community outreach.

The Little Art Theatre is among the most recognized, historic landmarks in Yellow Springs. Founded in 1929, the Little Art has a commitment to diverse programming that includes first-run, independent, and foreign films; documentaries; and cinema classics. We also present other events such as concerts, improv, film premieres, birthday parties, and community programs.

As “the best place to watch a movie, together” the Little Art Theatre provides experiences that entertain, inform, and inspire in an intimate hometown, single screen setting that cannot be replicated at the multiplexes.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with donor acknowledgement and crafting donor communication .
  • Use the donor management system to organize donor information and communication
  • Create donor solicitation packets and other materials for specific audiences
  • Suggest social media strategies to recognize and attract donors
  • Assist in outreach to individuals and community groups in a three-county area
  • Assist in planning and hosting donor engagement events
  • Other duties as assigned by the development and community impact director


Required Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field
  • Excellent computer, people, and communication skills with an attention to detail
  • Proficient at Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • At least one year of experience in an office or nonprofit environment.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently or with others and to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to lift and move file boxes, meeting supplies, refreshments, etc.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience with design
  • Experience in event planning and/or
  • Ability to craft compelling

Hours and Rate of Pay:

  • Flexible schedule of 10 – 15 hours/week.
  • 10 – 12 weeks with possibility of one renewal
  • $12 – $14/hour depending on experience + complimentary movie

Miller Fellowships are offered to the following individuals:

Students:

      • A full-time, degree-seeking student in good standing at a Greene County college or university with a preference towards an Antioch College student
      • A high school student who is a resident of Yellow Springs/Miami Township or an attendee at Yellow Springs High School; high school Miller Fellows must be 16 years old or older.
      • A resident of Yellow Springs/Miami Township under the age of 25 in a gap year before or during college or home for a vacation period
      • Students must have completed the YSCF’s Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) or apply and complete the next available NLI during their employment.
      • The identified Miller Fellow can be a current employee of the nonprofit if they meet the requirements above.
