Position Summary: The Advancement Office seeks a student assistant looking to gain knowledge and experience in the world of Alumni Relations. The Alumni Relations Assistant will assist the Director of Alumni & External Affairs in expediting alumni programming — from coordinating alumni events to working with alumni data to administrative work for our volunteers. Additionally, the assistant will assist in the ideation, development, and execution of student- and campus-facing alumni programming and communication.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, organized and enthusiastic individual with a flair for organization and a knack for communication with people of all ages. Applicants might be interested in the fields of social media, event planning, programs management, collegiate administration, or marketing and advertising. The position provides an unparalleled look into the inner workings of Antioch College Advancement, in depth knowledge of working in relationship and volunteer management, and access to well-connected alumni through groups such as the Alumni Board and Volunteer Work Project.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:

The Alumni Relations Assistant will assist the Director of Alumni & External Affairs in the day-to-day management of volunteers and alumni outreach. In addition, the position will be assigned some special projects including student and campus outreach, as well as assisting in the research and production of a historical Antioch documentary project related to the 2023 Reunion Weekend.


Qualified candidates will be skilled in the use of standard office programs such as Microsoft and Google Office suites, ability to learn new systems (such as our Alumni Directory), and above all enthusiasm and adaptability.

Required Physical Abilities:

Work activities may include occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 30 pounds, and the ability to move tables and chairs as necessary. 

Environmental Considerations:

Work will generally occur within a standard office environment with occasional shifts consisting of event set-up. Students may sit or stand for long periods of time.
