Position Summary
The Antioch College Office of Advancement is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and collaborative student to serve as the Annual Giving Lead Assistant. This leadership role offers a robust opportunity to develop skills in fundraising, donor stewardship, communications, project coordination, and team leadership. In addition to supporting the College’s Annual Fund campaigns, the Lead Assistant will take on elevated responsibility within a major new initiative: The Mapping Project. This signature effort involves training in and use of ArcGIS to help map, document, and elevate the stories of Antioch’s ecological spaces, learning hubs, and other meaningful locations across campus. The Lead Assistant will help guide student peers involved in this work, ensure accurate data collection, and contribute to the creation of an interactive tool that showcases Antioch’s place-based learning and the role of donor support in sustaining it. The Lead Assistant will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving and the broader Advancement team to help execute strategy, coordinate student contributions, and support projects that strengthen fundraising outcomes, deepen donor engagement, and highlight Antioch College’s mission in action.
Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
Leadership & Coordination:
- Serve as the point person for assigned projects, ensuring timelines are met, materials are prepared, and student team members understand expectations.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day direction to other Annual Giving student assistants, helping coordinate tasks, answering questions, and supporting a cohesive workflow within the Advancement office.
- Assist in training new student workers on office procedures, stewardship practices, and campaign protocols.
Annual Giving & Donor Engagement:
- Conduct stewardship phone calls to thank donors and share updates about the impact of their gifts.
- Participate in targeted calling campaigns to increase donor participation and advance the College’s fundraising goals.
- Compile personalized stewardship packets for scholarship donors, highlighting student achievements and expressions of gratitude.
- Lead and coordinate student thank-you letter–writing campaigns, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
Communications & Social Media:
- Generate engaging images, videos, and written content to support Annual Fund campaigns on Antioch’s social media platforms.
- Collaborate with the Communications team to develop storytelling and campaign content that resonates with alumni, donors, and the broader Antioch community.
Mapping Project (ArcGIS):
- Support the Advancement Mapping Project by using ArcGIS to map and document ecological spaces, learning hubs, and other meaningful campus locations.
- Gather, organize, and verify related stories, historical notes, and qualitative data; help maintain accuracy and consistency across the project.
- Contribute to the development of an interactive digital tool that highlights Antioch’s place-based learning and its connection to philanthropy.
- Assist in coordinating other student participants in the project and help ensure data integrity and adherence to project guidelines.
General Office Support
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment through light housekeeping in the Advancement offices.
- Assist with event support, mailings, and additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as an Antioch College student.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative, lead projects, and support peers.
- Strong organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Experience with social media platforms and content creation is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- A positive attitude and a genuine interest in supporting Antioch’s mission and values.
Required Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to complete hours during standard office hours (8:30am – 5pm). Flexibility is possible within those parameters.
- Physical ability to perform daily office activities, to include sitting long periods at a desk, light duty lifting, written and oral correspondence.
Environmental Considerations:
Work will generally occur within a standard office environment on the 4th floor of South Hall.
