Essential Responsibilities of the Position:

The ComCil Treasurer and Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and budgetary support to ComCil from 2023-2024. As all members of ComCil, the Treasurer and Administrative Assistant is expected to be present at all meetings and events, be familiar with ComCil by-laws, and take on a leadership role within ComCil. Additional responsibilities of the position are described below.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
  1. Is responsible for creating the Community Council budget for the following fiscal year. (beginning in the Winter quarter, to be completed in the Spring quarter)
  2. Shall facilitate all meetings of the Budget
  3. Shall track the Community Council budget and provide quarterly updates to Community
  4. Appropriately assess school funds for individual projects and
  5. Will work to ensure that all funds are used appropriately and that a broad cross-section of the community is represented with equal opportunities.
  6. Work closely with Independent Groups and others to coordinate proper funds and supplies when
  7. Shall be responsible for updating the Treasurer training
  8. Shall be responsible for any other duties relating to the Community Council budget
  9. Record and distribute the minutes of the Community Council and select committee
  10. Managing the logistical functions of the Community Council, including but not limited to:
  11. Management of the Community Council electronic presence
  12. Regularly check the Community Council email and organize the inbox as necessary
  13. Assisting the Community Council Chair(s) with the coordination of the other Community Council employees
  14. Assisting the Community Council Chair(s) with the coordination and facilitation of Community Council meetings
  15. Coordinate the release of official statements by Community Council to the
  16. Overseeing of the formation of new standing committees and ad hoc committees
  17. Distribute necessary forms to the These forms include but are not limited to: Independent Group Registration Forms and Funding Request Forms.
  18. Assisting Community Council and the Chair(s) with any other necessary
  19. Updating the Administrative Assistant training

Qualifications:

  • Experience with basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite
  • Experience working in an office environment
  • Experience or interest in budgeting and finance
  • Experience participating in a government
  • Organized

This position will require you to complete FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) training.

Required Physical Abilities:
Able to sit for prolonged periods of time
Able to focus on computer tasks for prolonged periods of time
Able to lift up to 25 pounds
Movement within and across a historic residential campus. Includes standard office environment.

Environmental Considerations:
Requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain experiencing local temperature and weather variations
