Academic Year round NOT including JA & ND Blocks

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:

Shall be responsible for any duties relating to the Community Council budget including but not limited to:

  • Facilitating all meetings of the Budget Committee
  • Monitor the Community Council budget
  • Provide updates and budget proposals to Community Council
  • Submit purchase orders, reimbursement forms, and other requests to the Finance office and college administration
  • Facilitate purchases of approved materials and services.
  • Document and organize financial forms, receipts, budgets, etc. in the Treasury folder of the ComCil Google Drive
  • Appropriately Assess school funds for individual projects and events, ensuring that all funds are used appropriately and that a broad cross-section of the community is represented with equal opportunities.
  • Work closely with Independent Groups and others to coordinate proper funds and supplies when necessary
  • Assist in coordinating fundraising activities by the community.
  • Create the Community Council budget for the following fiscal year. (beginning in the Winter quarter, to be completed in the Spring quarter)
  • Updating the Treasurer training manual.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Be in good academic standing, with a GPA of at least 2.0
  • Experience with basic software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Google Suite
  • Experience working in multiple environments, including an office setting
  • Experience or interest in budgeting and finance
  • Experience or interest in participating in a government
  • Organization and time-management skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to adopt a variety of responsibilities

This position will require you to complete FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) training.

Required Physical Abilities:
Able to sit for prolonged periods of time
Able to focus on computer tasks for prolonged periods of time
Able to lift up to 25 pounds
Movement within and across a historic residential campus. Includes standard office environment.

Environmental Considerations:
Requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain experiencing local temperature and weather variations
