Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
The production assistant will work with and support the Director in managing the operations of The Foundry Theater. Jobs will vary from production and include a range of activities from facility management and maintenance to technical production work to artist and patron relations. A versatile, communicative and positive personality with the ability to learn on the job is a must. The position will be tailored to fit individual applicants.
Qualifications:
Technical theater Experience (preferred)
Strong communication skills
Self-motivation and good time management skills
Ability to work well with others and problem solve
Ability to work independently
Enjoys physical work
Enthusiasm for what’s happening in the theater
Required Physical Abilities:
Ability to stand or walk regularly and frequently
Ability to regularly and frequently bend, squat, and climb stairs
Ability to regularly and frequently lift, carry and utilize tools, devices, and materials needed to accomplish work, including vacuum cleaners, mops, water-filled buckets
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds with or without assistance
Comfort with heights a plus
Environmental Considerations:
Indoor theater space with varying heating and cooling conditions.
Occasional requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain experiencing local temperature and weather variations
