You must be a registered Antioch College student to be eligible for this position.

The PlayWell Attendant supervises children ages 3-11 while playing in the Wellness Center, as the parents/guardians of PlayWell participants utilize the facility. The PlayWell Attendant provides access to Wellness Center approved equipment, suitable for use by children in the PlayWell program. The PlayWell Attendant encourages active play and participation, guiding the appropriate use of selected equipment.

Dates for the Position:

June 26, 2023 and ends on or before Aug. 25, 2023, upon approval of the job supervisor.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
Provides a clean, safe and fun child care environment.
Checks infants and children in and out
Ensures safe play conditions and follows established security procedures.
Observes specific parent directions for special needs.
Orient parents in regard to policies and procedures of child care space and maintain positive rapport with all parents and patrons.
Develops and implements engaging and fun activities for the children and attentively watches and attends to the children.
Treats minor injuries and completes accident reports; reports to parents, supervisor.
Handles complaints and comments and refers comments to the supervisor.
Performs duties and responsibilities in compliance with child care licensing requirements.
Maintains clean environment; performs janitorial duties as required.
Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Background Check Required (BCI & FBI)
High School Diploma or GED Required
Previous Childcare experience recommended
Must be at least 18 years of age.
First Aid and CPR certifications required (if not currently certified Wellness Center will facilitate training opportunities)
Knowledge of basic child care and feeding, as well as an understanding of infant and child development.
Strong public relations and communication skills.
Ability to work well with children and be patient with them.
Ability to move and react quickly to a variety of circumstances.

Physical requirements needed to perform the duties of this position:
Candidates must be able to regularly bend over, lift, carry, work with cleaning supplies, help move gym furniture, or communicate clearly with visitors. The environment is consistent with a community center or gym with a pool. The student employee will be inside and caring for children on a routine basis.
