The Office of Advancement coordinates fundraising and alumni relations activities that support Antioch College’s mission and long-term sustainability. The Advancement Office seeks a motivated and detail-oriented student to serve as an Advancement Services Assistant through the Federal Work College program. This position provides hands-on experience with advancement operations, donor data management, and fundraising support. Under the supervision of the Director of Advancement Services, the Advancement Services Assistant will support the accuracy, organization, and effective use of donor and alumni data while developing transferable professional skills relevant to nonprofit and higher education careers.

- Gain experience working with large and complex data sets
- Learn how donor data supports fundraising campaigns and stewardship efforts
- Build professional writing skills through drafting donor acknowledgement content
- Strengthen workplace skills including problem-solving, communication, and accountability
Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
- Data Management & Imports: Assist with data imports, including reviewing files for accuracy, mapping fields, and integrating large data sets into the advancement database under supervision.
- Custom Data Fields: Support the creation, maintenance, and use of custom data fields to meet reporting and campaign-tracking needs.
- Data Maintenance: Update records, correct errors, identify duplicate records, and assist with routine data audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Donor Acknowledgement Content: Draft donor acknowledgement letter content and templates for use by the Advancement team, ensuring accuracy, professionalism, and alignment with College and departmental guidelines.
- Campaign Tracking: Assist with tracking and organizing donations related to specific fundraising campaigns, including data review and basic reporting.
- Reporting Support: Generate routine and ad hoc reports as requested by the Advancement Services team.
- Record Keeping: Organize and maintain electronic and paper donor records in accordance with confidentiality and data-handling standards.
- Advancement Services Support: Provide general administrative support and assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled as a student at Antioch
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Clear written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive
- Reliable, organized, and willing to learn new systems and processes
Required Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to complete hours during standard office hours (8:30am – 5pm). Flexibility is possible within those parameters.
- Physical ability to perform daily office activities, to include sitting long periods at a desk, light duty lifting, written and oral correspondence.
Environmental Considerations:
Work will generally occur within a standard office environment on the 4th floor of South Hall.
