After several fulfilling years as a journalist, I am thrilled to join Antioch College as the new Director of Communications. My passion for storytelling and belief in the power of knowledge and education is what drove me as a journalist. Now, I eagerly bring those same beliefs to the world of higher education. There is beauty in the way higher education pushes us to think in new ways and encounter people who are different from us if we let it. The college experience is pivotal to who we will become and how we will impact others in the world.
I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in Communication at the University of Dayton. There I developed a love of research and mentoring to students which allowed me to conduct studies and present findings at the International Communication Association conference. I also had the opportunity to immerse myself in the higher education field by teaching a series of communication classes at the University of Dayton. Upon graduating, I pursued a career in journalism working at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio, and Spectrum News in Columbus, Ohio, where I became an Emmy-nominated news and political producer. But the call to join higher education was never far away, leading me to come join Antioch College.
In my spare time, I enjoy traveling, finding new food to try, playing music, and a great book.
As I begin my time at Antioch College, I want to say that I could not feel more honored to help share Antioch’s stories with the rest of the world.
