After several fulfilling years as a journalist in Dayton and Columbus, Ohio, Franchesca is thrilled to join Antioch College as the Director of Communications. Her passion for storytelling and belief in the power of knowledge and education is what drove her as a journalist. Now, she eagerly brings those same beliefs to higher education.
She earned her bachelors and masters degrees in Communication at the University of Dayton. There she developed a love of research and mentoring students. Franchesca also had the opportunity to immerse herself in higher education by teaching a series of communication classes at the University of Dayton. Upon graduating, she pursued a career in journalism working at WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio, and Spectrum News in Columbus, Ohio, where she became an Emmy-nominated news and political producer. The call to join higher education was never far away though, leading her to come join Antioch College.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, trying new cuisine, playing the piano/singing, reading a great book, and decorating.
