On June 27, 2019, The New York Times published an op-ed from Shelby Chestnut ’05, member of the Antioch College Board of Trustees and director of policy and programs at the Transgender Law Center. In the piece, Chestnut details police violence against transgender people, especially trans women, in New York and calls for “strong moral leadership from politicians to change the culture of violence against L.G.B.T.Q. people.” Read the editorial here.
