The most recent attacks on Asian American and Pacific Island people rise from the deep and cultivated mesh of racism, terrorism and brutality, which have ensnared and strangled people of color in our country for centuries.

Antioch College and its community call for the active opposition to such violence and hate-based beliefs. We stand in solidarity with the individuals and communities who suffer such outrages on a daily basis, grieving with the victims and their families.

We call upon the legal and political authorities to act for justice now in bringing those responsible to account, including elected officials who directly and indirectly perpetuate the conditions for these racist attacks.

And we acknowledge that no lasting progress will be made until the pervasive system of racism is uprooted and our collective humanity is uplifted for good.
