April is Sexual Assault Awareness month and the SOPP/Title IX Office has resources for our campus, as well as a few events planned for the month of April as well.

First, the YWCA Dayton has free virtual programming happening throughout the month of April, starting on April 5. This training series is evidence-based Sexual Violence Prevention courses to prevent intimate-partner and sexual violence against women through a public health and primary prevention lens. The series features six topics spread across three weeks to inform, educate, engage, and equip those who participate to not only prevent power-based violence, but to change the societal norms that allow such violence to be normalized as part of our culture. To register for the free training, please use this link.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center has many resources that can be used via social media and other outlets. You can find their resources, which you can share with your networks, at this link.

On Thursday, April 8, from 6 to 7:30 PM, in recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the Offices of SOPP/Title IX and Counseling Services, in conjunction with the Family Violence Prevention Center and YWCA Dayton, will host a virtual event on Consent & Boundaries, with an open discussion about the prevalence of sexual violence on college campuses, understanding a more comprehensive practice of positive consent and setting boundaries, with practical applications of bystander strategies.

Join us for a discussion of trauma recovery and healing as we explore ways that one can begin to regain control and restore safety in their life. We will also discuss Antioch College’s SOPP & Title IX.

This event is free and open to the entire Antioch College Community. Please check your email for the Zoom link to join the event.
