Mary Evans ’20 earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Antioch College with a self-designed major in the Business of Interdisciplinary Media Arts in which she studied journalism, video, radio, history, anthropology and computer coding. She is an audio journalist, radio producer, and social justice activist who uses her platform to provide space for underrepresented communities.

Before attending Antioch Evans was incarcerated from 2010-2017 and spent time in both Ohio Reformatory for Women in Marysville and Dayton Correctional Institution. Through the power of radio and storytelling, Evans is using her education to capture the narratives of others who were inspired to turn their life around. Today, you can listen to the collection of influential stories through her weekly WYSO radio show and podcast called ReEntry Stories. Evans is also a founder of The Journalism Lab which teaches writing, social media, audio journalism, videography and media marketing to underserved communities.
