President Jane Fernandes Announces Retirement, Interim President Named
YELLOW SPRINGS, OHIO – Dr. Jane Fernandes has announced her retirement after serving as Antioch College’s President since 2021. Natalie Kubat has been named Interim President of Antioch College and will begin serving in the role on September 10, 2026.
Dr. Fernandes has spoken of how extraordinarily privileged she has felt to have led this remarkable community, citing her “enormous admiration for Antioch College and, especially, for the people who give this College its strength—our students, faculty, staff, alumni, trustees, friends, and the many others who believe deeply in its purpose.” She notes that “Antioch has endured and flourished because generations of people have cared for it, challenged it, and believed in what it can become. I share that belief, and I look toward Antioch’s future with great confidence and affection.”
Natalie Kubat has served as the Executive Director of Advancement at Antioch College since 2023, demonstrating strong leadership and a deep commitment to Antioch College’s community and values. She will serve as Acting Interim President while the Board of Trustees searches for the College’s next President.
