The Greene County Women’s Hall of Fame selection committee announced that Julia Reichert ’70 will be inducted for her endeavors in filmmaking. The Greene County Women’s Hall of Fame was organized in March 1981 to honor women of Greene County, OH, who have contributed to the county’s growth and progress. Each year, a selection committee decides on the number of inductees into the Hall of Fame and the number of posthumous awards based upon the nominations received.

In an article about her induction, the Xenia Gazette details Reichert’s achievements, including more than 20 film productions. The writer states, “Her films, co-directed with Jim Klein and later with Steven Bognar, have given voice to women and working people, infusing their stories with poignancy and dignity.”

Reichert taught film production for 28 years at Wright State University in Dayton, OH, and co-founded Indie Caucus, a forum for professional writers in the independent film industry.
