Visiting Assistant Professor of Media Arts Catalina Jordan Alvarez will be presenting at the online UnionDocs workshop Conduits of Truth and Fantasy: The Art of The Interview running from October 3 through 11. Known for her experimental filmmaking, Alvarez will share her process of combining narrative performance to play with the conventions of the interview, focusing on her film in progress about Yellow Springs, Sound Spring.

Through seminars, hands-on practice, and work-in-progress critiques, participants in the workshop will push the boundaries of the interview, and learn how to put this new knowledge into practice. The workshop is open to filmmakers, audio creators, journalists, scholars, and anyone who’d like to delve into expansive ways of capturing compelling interviews.
