Academic Year round NOT including JA & ND Blocks

The Residence Life Assistant will support the Residence Life team, including the Residence Life Coordinator and the RAs, through various administrative, programmatic, and community-based tasks. This position is relatively flexible and can be geared toward a student’s interests and professional goals, although there will be some core administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
Essential responsibilities may include administrative tasks such as updating calendars, organizing schedules and meetings, coordinating supplies, making room reservations, sending emails, and completing spreadsheets. Programmatic responsibilities may also include planning events, assisting with events, advertising events, creating promotional materials, and creating educational materials. Community-based responsibilities may include representing Residence Life in the community, connecting students to resources, and completing projects for improving the living experiences of campus residents.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position is timely, organized, technologically competent, and open to learning and developing new skills.

Student must be FERPA trained for this position. If you are not already, then please discuss this with the supervisor during the interview process. Training is available during on-boarding for this position.

Physical Abilities
The position requires the incumbent to operate in office, classroom, and business space and to move about the main campus and in other locations during all seasons and weather.

Environmental Considerations
The position works extensively in an office environment; seated or standing and utilizing standard office equipment such as networked computers, telephones, copiers, fax machines Indoor office environment; heated and cooled institutionally Occasional requirement to move around campus, indoors and outdoors, over paved and rough terrain experiencing local temperature and weather variations
