2025 Yellow Springs Celebration of Peace and Unity

Join the Coretta Scott King Center for Cultural and Intellectual Freedom at Antioch College, the 365 Project, and the Yellow Springs Juneteenth Planning Committee for the 2025 Yellow Springs Celebration of Peace and Unity.

This festival will both celebrate the Juneteenth holiday and commemorate the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech at Antioch College’s commencement on June 19, 1965.

In addition to a wide variety of non-food and food vendors, this festival will feature music, performances, and fun activities for both youth and adults.

What:  Yellow Springs Celebration of Peace and Unity: A Juneteenth Festival and Martin Luther King Jr. Speech 60th Anniversary commemoration.

Event Schedule:

1:00-2:00 PM – Coretta and Martin’s Yellow Springs Juneteenth Walk

Join us for a walk, organized by the 365 Project, highlighting places in Yellow Springs that were important for Coretta Scott King and Dr. Martin Luther King’s time in the village. The walk will start at the Coretta Scott King Center (781 Livermore Road, Yellow Springs)

2:00–5:00 PM – Community Day Celebration

Join us for a celebration that will feature food and non-food vendors, educational displays, arts activities, games for youth and adults, performances, workshops, and free books for youth provided by the Yellow Springs Community Library.

This program will feature information about Juneteenth, music selections by the World House Choir, recitation of WPA slave narratives, a dance performance, recitation of excerpts of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s speech, and the dedication of a plaque sponsored by the Zeta Delta Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

7:00 – 9:00 PM – Juneteenth Party
