Details of the discussion:
Antioch College professors Jennifer Grubbs (Anthropology) and Kevin McGruder (History) will discuss the historical roots and social functions of the criminal justice system in the United States that has led to our current era of mass incarceration. They will conclude with a discussion of contemporary activism that is working to create a society that is both safe and just.
