Position Summary:
Student workers, under the supervision of Property Management staff, are responsible for the upkeep of Antioch College buildings and grounds. These are hands-on roles essential to maintaining a safe, clean, and functional campus environment.

Essential Responsibilities of the Positions:
Facilities Assistant

Performing cleaning activities in campus buildings
-
Doing laundry for campus operations
-
Setting up and tearing down for campus events
-
Taking out trash and recycling
-
Conducting building and room checks
-
Assisting with general maintenance and minor repairs
-
Refilling water sulfur systems
-
Completing special projects and other duties as assigned
Groundskeeping Assistant
-
Mowing lawns using hand, power, or riding mowers
-
Trimming and edging around walks, flower beds, and walls
-
Planting flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes
-
Applying fertilizer and watering plants
-
Pruning shrubs and pulling weeds
-
Performing minor repairs on groundskeeping equipment
-
Installing rock, cement, lighting, and outdoor furniture
-
Raking and mulching grounds
-
Other duties as assigned
Required Physical Abilities:
Physically qualified to lift up to 50 pounds, and to bend, stoop, stretch, reach and climb.
Environmental Considerations:
Position requires incumbent to operate in offices, dorms, classrooms, and outdoor spaces across campus during all seasons and weather. May occasionally work in temperatures above 100 degrees and below 32 degrees. Will climb ladders and work off elevated surfaces on an occasional basis. May walk on uneven or slippery surfaces. Noise level in the work environment is variable.
Work Schedule:
Facilities Assistant: Selected hours between 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Some weekend work is required. Up to 10 hours per week.
Groundskeeping Assistant: 10 hours per week, Monday – Friday between 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Flexible schedule.
