Kitchen Assistant is a key role in supporting culinary and general food service. This position ensures that all kitchen and dining equipment remains clean and well organized.  This position will help Antioch Kitchen staff support their dining program during this pandemic and as they transition back to regular service procedures. Person will be responsible for maintaining a variety of areas for Antioch Kitchen. This position will need to be flexible to the needs of the Kitchen as things may change and as campus COVID restrictions are lifted.

Essential Responsibilities of the Position:
Supports the preparation, completion, and execution of meals.
Washing, drying, and organizing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, equipment, and workstations
Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen at large and kitchen equipment including storage units, areas, floors and food preparation stations
Operate and clean the dish machine
Responsible for the restocking and maintenance of beverage areas, dry goods/cereal area, and table condiments
Making coffee and tea and maintaining the cleanliness of those service areas
Restocking and cleaning the cereal, fruit, and toast making areas
Cleaning the microwave and toaster
Sweeping and mopping floors
Removal of trash and recycling
Completes any task that the chefs ask of them as needed

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Organizational skills are a must
Ability to follow procedures
Team Player

Required Physical Abilities:
Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
Must be able to traverse campus in a variety of situations and weather

Environmental Considerations:
Exposure to low-level cleaning chemicals
Moderate noise exposure
Occasional exposure to very hot and very cold liquids and gas
Exposure to potential food allergens
