Antioch College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position for the 2026-27 academic year within its Cooperative Education Program, beginning August 1, 2026. Duties include advising students as they apply and prepare for a variety of co-op work experiences, teaching courses in the cooperative education and general education programs, engaging in ongoing professional and job partner development, liaising with academic divisions and learning hubs, and participating in community governance through service and other contributions.

Meaningful work is central to an Antioch education. For more than 100 years, a critical component of the Antioch College education model has been the Cooperative Education (Co-op) program. All students are required to participate in co-op to expand their professional skills and learn from diverse communities of practice, while gaining full-time immersive work experience in local, national and international settings. As one of ten federal work colleges in the nation, Antioch is committed to providing meaningful work opportunities for all students to have access to an affordable undergraduate degree that prepares them for careers beyond college.

Successful candidates will have distinguished themselves as student-centered educators committed to field-based learning and bring significant industry experience in the areas of community engagement, social enterprise, public humanities, or health and wellness. The co-op faculty member’s expertise will preferably align with one or more of our curricular interdisciplinary pathways, and they will be expected to develop co-op opportunities for students interested in a variety of settings, with preferred focus areas in community non-profit organizations, small business development, civic and cultural media, or community health and social services. The faculty member will act as an advisor and mentor to students before, during and after their co-op field experiences, as well as engage in assessment, grant-related initiatives, and coordination of supplemental program activities. They will collaborate with faculty members in the academic divisions (social sciences, humanities, arts and sciences) and may be asked to teach a divisional course in alignment with a curricular pathway or a practicum course at one of the campus learning-hubs. The successful applicant will actively engage with the campus community, serve on committees, and liaise with a wide array of partners and alumni constituents.

Qualifications for the co-op faculty position include an advanced degree (e.g. Masters or Ph.D.) and significant industry experience in community advocacy, social enterprise, public humanities and/or community health and wellness related fields. Teaching experience within cooperative education, service learning, field-based education, or another form of experiential education programming is preferred. Experience in and commitment to liberal arts education is desirable. Candidates should have the ability to adapt to new software and online teaching interfaces; be willing to carry out a variety of administrative tasks; and most importantly, engage in sustained dialogue with students and be willing to work hard to meet their needs. Adaptability, resourcefulness, a sense of humor, public speaking ability, and strong communication skills will be necessary for success. Experience living, working or conducting research abroad is a plus.

Application review begins immediately and the position is open until filled. To apply, please send a CV and cover letter that addresses your interest in the position and your commitment to undergraduate teaching, experiential learning, and supporting the needs of a diverse student body on a multicultural campus committed to inclusion. Materials can be sent to hr@antiochcollege.edu.

Students also utilize Antioch’s dynamic learning hub resources like our Antioch farm, the Coretta Scott King Center, the Wellness Center and the Herndon Gallery. The high level of participation in the design and governance of the College, dialogue and collaboration across the campus to develop community here and in the surrounding region is unmatched elsewhere.

Antioch College embraces diversity as a core value, and considers it fundamental to excellence in education. We are an educational community dedicated to the pursuit of social justice that intentionally and consistently supports diverse and inclusive practices. Antioch College acknowledges and seeks to end the existence of systemic inequity in terms of access to power, resources, and privilege and works to develop access and equity in the community. We believe diversity enhances learning and our individual and collective ability to manifest positive change. We seek candidates who can contribute to Antioch’s mission through curricular development and innovation that fosters social justice, cultural competencies and understanding of diversity.
