A Tassy

Antioch College Works Program Manager

Pronouns: they/them

A Tassy brings their passion for experiential learning and community engagement to Antioch College as the Works Program Manager. They are an educator, researcher, and community organizer working at the intersection of African American studies, decolonial pedagogy, and grassroots activism. Their academic work examines inclusive approaches to teaching African American history while their community work focuses on mutual aid, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and sustainable agriculture.

As a lecturer at Wright State University, they designed a course centering African American history, intersectionality, and critical pedagogy. Their research includes published work on decolonial teaching methods and ongoing exploration of Black farming histories in Appalachia.

An active organizer, they serve on the Fairborn Pride Planning Committee and direct Inclusive Fairborn, leading community events and mutual aid projects. Their hands-on experience ranges from substitute teaching to farm work with Sunday Creek Collective, where they practice sustainable agriculture and animal care.

Of Haitian and Irish heritage, they bring this multicultural perspective to their work in education and community building. When not teaching or organizing, they enjoy hiking, hammocking, and exploring the intersections of land, labor, and liberation.
