I’m thrilled to be on the team as the Assistant Director of Counseling Services! My journey to this role has been a rewarding one, completing my undergraduate studies at Eastern Kentucky University in 2020, fulfilling my internship here at Antioch College July 2024, and culminating in my recent graduation from Goldey-Beacom College with an M.A. in Counseling Psychology August 2024. Currently, I am pursuing my Psy.D in Clinical Psychology at Wright State University. I’m excited to bring my passion for helping others and my fresh perspective to our work here.
I believe students should cultivate a strong sense of awareness, structure, and balance in their academic and personal lives. Awareness helps them understand their strengths and areas for growth, while structure provides a framework for managing responsibilities effectively. Balance ensures they maintain well-being and prevent burnout. Common modalities and interventions I use are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help individuals reframe negative thought patterns, motivational therapy to ignite and sustain their drive, role playing to build practical skills and confidence, and goal achievement techniques to set and accomplish clear objectives. Together, these elements create a foundation for overcoming challenges and achieving both academic success and personal fulfillment.
Outside of my professional life, you can often find me enjoying a good book or exploring the great outdoors. I’m a big fan of staying active, whether that means hitting the gym, going for a hike, or just enjoying a brisk walk. When I need to unwind, I love binge-watching Netflix shows or planning my next travel adventure.
