The Yellow Springs News reports that a special Council meeting was held on Wednesday, July 8, during which two new laws were passed. The most significant law was passed unanimously and rules that facial coverings must be worn in places where physical distancing of six feet is not possible.
The ordinance will apply as long as the Village’s state of emergency is in effect. As the Yellow Springs News explains,
“The ordinance identifies three situations in which facial coverings must be worn:
- When inside any indoor public place if physical distancing of six feet is not possible.
- When waiting in line to enter an indoor public space.
- When outdoors in public places when physical distancing is not possible.”
The new ordinance includes civil penalties.
