Yellow Springs Villager Tom Osborne died on Oct. 23, 2020, at Hospice of Dayton.

Tom graduated from Antioch College in 1960, and went on to do his military service as a rocket engineer at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala. Directly after his service he went to Clemson University in South Carolina and got his graduate degree in engineering.

After graduating from Clemson, he worked for 33 years at his first and only job at the Yellow Springs Instrument Company.

He was an avid amateur french horn player and musician and a member of almost every pick-up orchestra and woodwind group in Yellow Springs. Many of the high school band and orchestra horn players were his students.

His activities in the community included the Yellow Springs Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, Home, Inc., and the Yellow Springs Chamber Music Society.

He is survived by his three children, all of whom graduated from the Yellow Springs High School, and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister and two brothers, and their children.
