   Isabel S. Rubel, in her 95th year, passed away on January 27, 2021. She was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley B. Rubel with whom she had a devoted 61-year marriage.

  She and Stanley co-founded Alan Evan in 1958 in Pompano Beach, Fl. Together they built the business into a recognized and respected local sportswear chain for men and women.

   Isabel was a proud graduate of Antioch College, earning a degree in social work in 1948. Isabel had a passion for exploration, education, the arts and travel. Some of this came from growing up in New York City, which she loved.

   She found purpose in her work and joy in raising her family. As a founding member of Temple Sholom she was a part of the early growth and development of Pompano Beach, Fl.

    Isabel was the loving mother of Howard (Janet), Matthew (Melissa), and Laurence, and grandchildren Todd, Sarah, Jeremy, Jeffrey, Michael, and Joshua. She is also survived by her younger sister Joan Leibman and niece, Abby Leibman. Her love of learning will forever be part of her children, grandchildren and those who knew her.
