Inge Rosenbaum Brower

June 17, 1935 – July 25, 2024

Sacramento, California – Inge Rosenbaum Brower, born June 17, 1935, in Haiger, Germany, died on July 25, 2024, in Sacramento, California. She was a lover of life, including all animals; world traveler and local adventurer; keen reader; enthusiastic and warm friend and neighbor; green-thumb grower of succulents.

A Holocaust refugee, Inge immigrated to the United States at the age of five. She grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, and attended Antioch College in Yellow Springs, Ohio, before moving to California to work as a journalist, and later, for the county of Sacramento in social services.

Inge is survived by her daughter Julie; by her son Anthony and his children Samuel, Andrew, and Frances, and by Sam’s wife and Inge’s wiggly new great grandson; by her son and daughter-in-law Patrick and Amy and their children Sarah, Donald, and Sean, and by Sarah’s husband Jack. Inge is also survived by her cousins Susanne Fruchter and Jane Hazelcorn. Inge treasured traveling and spending time with her grandchildren, and is beloved by her family.

Inge was predeceased by her husband Donald Seabury Brower, her parents Ruth and Max Rosenbaum, her grandparents Hilda and Abraham Herz and Hannah and Israel Rosenbaum, and her aunt and uncle Marian and Kurt Herz.

There will be private family services, and a celebration of Inge’s life to be announced at a later date.
