Jerald Harvey Obituary

Jerald “Jerry” Wayne Harvey went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 1, 2024 in Tucson, Arizona. An only child, Jerry was born on July 26, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas. He became an Eagle Scout at 15. Jerry graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Antioch College in Ohio in 1965, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the commencement speaker. Jerry was a self-employed Certified Public Accountant for 44 years after working 12 years for others.

Jerry is survived by Mary Harvey, his loving wife of 44 years; son, Michael (and his wife, Maggie) Harvey; grandson Mason; Shirley Maddox, stepdaughter; Alan Bishop, stepson; Sue Harvey, Michael’s mother. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Marjorie Harvey.

With a heart for service, Jerry became a charter member of the Roadrunner Civitan Club in 1973, was a Mason for 26 years, and an active member at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for over 44 years (Usher, Foundation, Finance, Pet Ministry).

Jerry and Mary met as square dancers and married in 1980. Jerry liked to paint and was an avid University of Arizona sports fan.

A Celebration of Life service is Friday, August 30 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 8051 E Broadway, Tucson. In lieu of flowers, if you wish to honor Jerry, the family suggests donations in his name to St. Paul’s, or to the Civitan International Research Center (civitan.org/circ).
