Wendy Frances Lang, died Nov 15, 2024 at the age of 87, peacefully in her sleep at home in Los Angeles, California from complications of Parkinson’s Disease. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio to H Jack Lang and Frances Wise Lang. She attended The Suburban Temple, Laurel School, Antioch College (AB) and Stanford University (MS, Latin American Studies). In the Antioch Education Abroad program she worked in Mexico with the American Friends Service Committee and then in the AEA program in France. These experiences led her to love traveling around the world with her adventurous and enthusiastic spirit. In her 70s, she swam with whale sharks, flew loops in a stunt airplane, fell from the sky while skydiving and in the highlands of Papua New Guinea while traveling in a small public van transport, was allowed to pass among fighting villagers armed with spears and hagen axes. She was a professional photographer and taught photography. She loved meeting people of all walks of life and had an artistic eye for capturing their personality in her photos. Wendy was proudly fluent in Spanish, French and Sign Language. She had a passionate interest in genealogy and was delighted in expanding the family tree and meeting or connecting with their descendants. She is survived by her brother John Andrew Lang of Berkeley, California and many friends around the world. She participated in multiple local Los Angeles Parkinsons Support Groups, where she met many new friends, especially in the Dance For Joy program at the Lineage Performing Arts Center in Pasadena, California. A public celebration of her life will be arranged likely on her February 15th birthday.
