Gary Groot, aged 78, passed away on December 5, 2024, in Westchester, New York. He was born on August 20, 1946, in Freeport, NY, to Ruth Osterbrink and Kenneth Groot. He married Mary Weston on February 22, 1975, in New York, NY. They were residents of Bronxville, NY after previously living in Scarsdale, NY.
Gary received his B.A. in English from Antioch College, his M.A. in English from Columbia University, and his J.D. from Fordham Law School. He worked as an attorney at various law firms including Willkie Farr & Gallagher, and at various companies including Citicorp and Bank of America.
Gary was a loving husband and father. He enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. He is survived by his wife, Mary, and his children, Patricia, Robert, and Christine.
