Nancy D’Amico Obituary

Nancy Ann D’Amico, 72, of Truckee, CA, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by dear friends. Born in Syracuse, NY, she was the beloved daughter of the late James F. D’Amico and Melana Bertini D’Amico, and sister to the late Regis Ann D’Amico Davis and Janice Ann D’Amico, MD. She is survived by many cherished cousins who remained close to her.
Nancy was a proud graduate of Henninger High School, earned her BA in Science Education from Antioch College, and later completed her MBA at St. Mary’s College in California. Bright, curious, and endlessly determined, she built a successful career in telecommunications before choosing to retire early-a decision that allowed her to fully embrace the joys and adventures she loved most.
A lifelong learner and natural teacher, Nancy devoted time to tutoring math students, sharing not only her knowledge but also her patience and encouragement. She traveled the world with an explorer’s spirit, collecting experiences, friendships, and stories along the way. The outdoors was her happy place, whether she was hiking, biking, or simply breathing in the alpine air she loved so much. Skiing, however, was her greatest passion. As a dedicated ski instructor at Northstar in Lake Tahoe, she inspired countless students with her enthusiasm, skill, and signature spark.
Nancy met life with grit, warmth, and an unmistakable sense of adventure. Even as she faced her final illness, her spirit never dimmed-she continued to make plans, dream boldly, and look ahead, right up to the world cruise she hoped to take.
A Mass and Celebration of Life will be held in Truckee, CA, in early 2026. All who knew Nancy are welcome to join in honoring a remarkable woman who lived with generosity, courage, and joy.
